About HNA

Our Mission

Hollygrove Neighbors Association Inc., (HNA), is a civic organization formally established in 2005. HNA works to engage its diverse community of residents on quality of life issues by way of collaboration and coalition building. The Association conducts quarterly meetings to keep residents informed of local, state and federal issues that may be of importance to Hollygrove. The Association is committed to a greener New Orleans and advancing the quality of life for Hollygrove residents.

What We Do

  • Host Community Meetings — Hosted by Peace by Piece New Orleans and the Hollygrove Neighbors Association (HNA), Youth & Family Wellness Day brings together youth, families, and organizations for a day of connection, joy, and resource-sharing rooted in community care.
  • Facilitate Sustainability Programs — We support programs that help make Hollygrove healthier and more resilient. Our sustainability efforts may include community cleanup, environmental education, recycling and waste reduction initiatives, green infrastructure awareness, and partnerships that bring resources directly to residents.
  • Support Conrad Park Activities — We help activate and care for Conrad Park as an important gathering space for the neighborhood. This includes supporting community events, volunteer beautification projects, family-friendly programming, and efforts that keep the park welcoming and vibrant.
  • Manage the Hollygrove Community Garden — We oversee the Hollygrove Community Garden as a shared space for growing food, learning new skills, and building community. Garden activities include volunteer days, planting and maintenance, resident participation, and education around healthy food and wellness.

History

Hollygrove has a rich history as a residential neighborhood in Uptown New Orleans. Like many New Orleans neighborhoods, it was deeply impacted by Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and the recovery that followed. The community has shown remarkable resilience, with residents coming together to rebuild not just homes but the social fabric of the neighborhood.

The Hollygrove Neighbors Association continues that tradition of community self-reliance — neighbors helping neighbors, working together to shape the future of our neighborhood.
